My family and I operate a multi-generational dairy farm in Quinte West. Farming has given me a deep respect for our land, our environment, and the importance of protecting agricultural land as a finite resource.

Serving first as a volunteer fire fighter in Murray Township and with over 36 years as a fire fighter in a large city, has given me a strong background in emergency services. That experience taught me the importance of leadership, teamwork, sound decision-making, and serving others—qualities I will bring to Municipal Council.

Although my career took me to Toronto, I have always lived, farmed, and remained active in Quinte West. My family’s roots in this community date back to the 1800s, and I understand both the opportunities and challenges facing our rural and small-town communities.

For the past three years, I have represented four local counties as a Director with the Ontario Federation of Agriculture, advocating at Queen’s Park and in Ottawa. This role has given me firsthand experience working with all levels of government to advance practical solutions. Agrifood business is a $51-billion industry in Ontario and there are great opportunities and untapped potential. I believe Quinte West can work with industry and upper levels of government to help realize that potential.

My wife and I also volunteer at a local warming centre because we believe a strong community cares for its most vulnerable. Ensuring that everyone has access to shelter, food, and support is a shared responsibility.

I support the similar positions of both the Ontario Federation of Agriculture and that of the Eastern Ontario Warden’s Caucus with respect to the Alto High Speed Rail. Together we oppose the train as it is proposed and ask that the project be paused to allow for meaningful consultation and intentional exploration of low impact alternatives. Personally, I feel the existing CN line and VIA train is ideally located for passenger use and alternatives for freight transportation need to be explored.

I believe rural communities are the backbone of a strong and resilient economy. They grow our food, steward our environment, and support local businesses that create jobs and strengthen our communities. As your councillor, I will support practical policies that encourage small business, responsible development, fiscal responsibility, and long-term planning. Rural municipalities are facing unprecedented financial pressures. Along with the Ontario Federation of Agriculture, I call on the Provincial government to restore the Ontario Municipal Partnership Fund of $985 million and support an additional $1.5 billion for rural infrastructure.

I am running for Ward 3 because I want to bring practical, solutions-focused leadership to Council. My experience in farming, emergency services, business, and advocacy has prepared me to balance economic, environmental, and social priorities while always putting our community first.
